LOCAL CREW, OLDER-HOME EXPERIENCE

Water in an Older Home Needs a Different Approach

In case of water damage, our first job isn’t tearing things out. We find where the water went, measure what’s wet and tell you what can be dried in place. Drying original materials usually costs less than replacing them, and in a home like yours it’s often the only way to match what was there.
Mr. Restoration has handled water emergencies in Belle Meade and across Davidson County for more than 20 years. We’re family owned, IICRC certified, and our own crew does the repairs after drying is done.

My initial contact Chris was great at communicating and very urgent with getting to my issues. Chris helped to get everything set up quickly and responsive to all questions I had . After that Cruz came to check up on the system over a week or so both men were helpful respectful informative and had good customer service

After carpet company broke a pipe upstairs and flooded the entire kitchen and living room ceiling, Cruz and team came out asap and worked into the night to remove all damage and dry out everywhere. Then they quickly started reconstruction. Everything looks like new now. Communication was great! I hope I never have to use them again but if another situation arises I won’t call any other service

Great experience and excellent results

How Fast Should Water Damage Be Cleaned Up?

The same day, if you can. Wet drywall, plaster and wood can start growing mold within 24 to 48 hours, and hardwood finishes start lifting in that same window. The sooner standing water comes out and drying equipment goes in, the more of the original house you keep.

WHAT WE PROTECT FIRST

Saving the Parts of Your Home That Are Hard to Replace

The same day, if you can. Wet drywall, plaster and wood can start growing mold within 24 to 48 hours, and hardwood finishes start lifting in that same window. The sooner standing water comes out and drying equipment goes in, the more of the original house you keep.

Hardwood Floors

We use floor drying mats that pull moisture up through the boards. Many cupped floors flatten back out once they're properly dried, which can save a full tear-out and refinish.

Plaster Walls and Ceilings

Plaster dries slowly and hides moisture well. We take readings through the wall, vent cavities where needed and only recommend removal if the plaster has lost its bond.

Basements and Crawl Spaces

Older foundations let water in from below. We extract, dry the framing and subfloor, and point out the conditions that could let water back in.

Furniture, Rugs and Belongings

Antiques, rugs and art get moved out of the wet area first. Items that need specialized cleaning or drying are documented and packed out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Water Damage Cleanup in Belle Meade

How quickly can you get to my home in Belle Meade?
In most cases within 45 minutes, any time of day or night. A real person answers the phone and dispatches a crew right away.
Can water-damaged hardwood floors be saved?
Often, yes. If drying starts in the first day or two, many cupped boards flatten as the moisture comes out. Boards that have buckled or pulled away from the subfloor may need to be replaced.
Do plaster walls have to come out after a leak?
Not usually. Plaster can often be dried in place with careful monitoring. We only recommend removal if it's sagging, has lost its bond to the lath or was soaked by contaminated water.
Does homeowners insurance cover water damage in Belle Meade?
Sudden events like a burst pipe or failed appliance are commonly covered. Flooding from rising water, like a creek overflowing, is typically excluded from standard homeowners policies and handled by separate flood insurance. We document the damage and work with your adjuster either way.
How long does it take to dry out a home?
Most residential jobs take 3 to 5 days. Plaster and thick hardwood can take longer. We go by daily moisture readings, not the calendar.
Will you protect my furniture and belongings?
Yes. Contents get moved out of the wet area first, and items that need specialized cleaning or storage can be packed out and documented for your claim.
