After carpet company broke a pipe upstairs and flooded the entire kitchen and living room ceiling, Cruz and team came out asap and worked into the night to remove all damage and dry out everywhere. Then they quickly started reconstruction. Everything looks like new now. Communication was great! I hope I never have to use them again but if another situation arises I won’t call any other service

Roof Leak & Ceiling Water Damage Restoration

Roof Leak & Ceiling Damage Specialists

The spot on your ceiling is never the whole story. Water enters through the roof and travels along rafters, through insulation, across the top of ceiling drywall before it finds a seam, a nail hole, or a light fixture opening to drip through. By the time you see the stain, water has already soaked the attic insulation, wetted the structural framing, and possibly been sitting in the ceiling cavity long enough for mold to start.
A roof leak is a water damage problem disguised as a roofing problem. The leak itself needs to be stopped, but the damage it caused inside the building wet insulation, saturated drywall, compromised framing, and mold risk needs professional restoration to prevent it from getting worse.
Mr. Restoration provides 24/7 roof leak and ceiling water damage restoration across Nashville, Murfreesboro, Franklin, Brentwood, Hendersonville, and surrounding Middle Tennessee communities. We stop the water, dry the structure, remediate any mold, and rebuild what was damaged all in-house.

Common Causes of Roof Leaks in Middle Tennessee

Storm Damage

High winds, hail, and fallen branches strip shingles, crack flashing, and puncture roofing membranes. A single storm can create multiple entry points.

Aging Shingles & Materials

Asphalt shingles lose granules and become brittle over time. Many Nashville-area homes have roofs approaching or past their expected lifespan without replacement.

Failed Flashing

Flashing around chimneys, vents, skylights, and valleys is the most common failure point. Metal corrodes, caulk dries out, and water finds its way underneath.

Ice Dams (Winter)

When ice builds up at the roof edge and prevents meltwater from draining, water backs up under the shingles and into the roof deck and attic.

Clogged Gutters

Backed-up gutters push water against the fascia board and under the drip edge, causing water to enter the soffit and wall cavity.

Flat Roof Ponding

Commercial buildings and additions with flat roofs are prone to standing water when drains clog or membranes fail. Ponding accelerates membrane deterioration and eventually finds a way inside.

Condensation in the Attic

Poor attic ventilation allows warm, moist air to condense on the underside of the roof deck. Over time, this produces moisture damage and mold growth that mimics a roof leak.

Our Roof Leak & Ceiling Water Damage Process

Step 1 — Emergency Response & Leak Containment
We arrive within 45 minutes. If the roof is actively leaking, we tarp the affected area to stop further water entry. Inside, we contain the water by catching active drips, relieving ceiling pressure if drywall is bulging, and protecting furnishings and flooring.
Step 2 — Damage Assessment & Moisture Mapping
Using thermal imaging cameras and moisture meters, we trace the path the water traveled from the entry point through the attic, insulation, framing, and ceiling cavity. The goal is to find every area affected by moisture, not just the visible stain.
Step 3 — Water Extraction & Structural Drying
Saturated insulation is removed. Standing water is extracted. Industrial air movers and dehumidifiers are deployed in the attic and ceiling cavity to dry the structural framing, decking, and remaining materials. We monitor moisture daily until safe levels are reached.
Step 4 — Mold Assessment & Treatment
If mold has developed in the affected area, and in Middle Tennessee it often has when water has been present for more than 24 to 48 hours, we assess the scope and treat or remediate as needed. Antimicrobial treatments are applied to affected surfaces.
Step 5 — Documentation & Insurance Coordination
We document all damage, moisture readings, materials removed, and work performed. We communicate directly with your insurance adjuster so you do not have to manage the back-and-forth.
Step 6 — Ceiling Repair, Drywall, & Reconstruction
Our in-house construction team replaces damaged drywall, insulation, paint, and trim. When the roof itself needs permanent repair, we coordinate with your roofing contractor or handle it directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does ceiling water damage repair cost?
Costs depend on the extent of the damage, a small stain from a minor leak is a very different scope than a collapsed ceiling with mold and saturated insulation. We provide a written estimate after assessment and work directly with your insurance company on covered claims.
Should I just paint over a water stain on my ceiling?
No. A water stain means water reached the drywall, which means moisture has been in the ceiling cavity. Painting over it hides the stain but does not address the moisture, the damaged insulation, or the mold risk above it. Get it inspected before covering it up.
How fast can mold grow after a roof leak?
Mold can begin growing within 24 to 48 hours in areas with trapped moisture. In Middle Tennessee humidity, this timeline is often on the faster end. That is why fast drying and professional assessment are critical after any roof leak.
Does insurance cover roof leak water damage?
Most homeowner policies cover sudden water damage from roof leaks for example, a storm rips off shingles and rain enters. Gradual damage from a slowly deteriorating roof that was never maintained is often excluded. We document all damage and work with your adjuster to support the claim.
Can you fix the roof, or just the interior damage?
We provide emergency tarping immediately to stop water entry. For permanent roof repair, our in-house construction team handles many roofing repairs directly, or we coordinate with your roofing contractor. The interior damage ceiling, drywall, insulation, paint is fully handled by our crew.
How do you find water damage inside a ceiling?
We use infrared thermal imaging cameras and professional moisture meters to map moisture inside ceiling cavities, walls, and attic spaces. Water travels along framing and can be several feet from the visible stain. Our equipment tracks the full path of the water.
Is a ceiling leak an emergency?
If water is actively dripping, pooling in the ceiling, or near electrical fixtures, yes. Call us immediately at 615-257-8063. If the stain is dry and appears old, it still needs inspection but it may not require same-day emergency service.

Ceiling Leaking? Call Now

Every hour that water sits in your ceiling, the insulation gets heavier, the drywall gets weaker, and the mold clock is running. Do not wait to see if it dries on its own. It will not. Call us, and we will be there within 45 minutes.
